Czorsztyn - Lake and Castles

This is a unique picturesque trip to the Pieniny Mountains where we will see two medieval castles, the ancient wooden church in Dêbno, erected in the 15 th c, a fine example of woodwork. From Dêbno, we drive through the beautiful Dunajec River valley. Czorsztyn Castle (13 th c.) was destroyed in a peasant uprising in 1651, but it has been partly restored while Niedzica Castle is in perfect condition and houses a fine museum. During the tour, we walk along the top of the Czorsztyn Lake dam. Our final stop is an open air museum in the heart of Pieniny National Park. The wooden buildings that were saved during the dam's construction have been removed there and fully restored.

This tour can also be combined with Dunajec River Gorge.

The raft trip down the Dunajec river through the Pieniny Gorge and along the Polish-Slovak border is one of the greatest tourist attractions in Poland. Our trip begins at the raft wharf in Sromowce Nizne and ends 15 km later in Szczawnica, a beautiful resort in the Beskidy Mountains. It lasts 2-3 hours depending on the water level of the river.
